It's a fact: Kim Taeyeon CAN'T really sing

Most of us have already established the fact that SNSD's leader and apparently "main" vocal, Kim Taeyeon, is not really that much of a singer, mediocre at best. (Personally, I think she can't sing at all)

However, what I don't get is how she always goes off key and messes up when paired with great singers.

Ruined a classic for me...

And quite recently, she was paired up with renowned balladeer, Park Hyo Shin, at the Seoul International Drama Awards last Septeber 11, 2009.



But this is where it gets interesting. It seems netizens are also complaining on how she ruined the song (which is an original Park Hyo Shin solo). Finally they realized that already!

But.. trust Sones to again be on the defensive on this one.

However, it's already a given fact: SNSD leader Kim Taeyeon is not the "amazing" singer they claim her to be. Video and audio proof included.

I can't believe Taeyeon is the main vocalist & also
the best singer in they're group. she's messing every
duet she has & of course no exception to on her own songs.
this girl can sing only off key & out of sync. this girl needs
more vocal training & my choir teacher told me that when I let her
watch Taeyeon singing live & she's not very impressed of her singing
prowess. & Sones wants Taeyeon to have a duet with Junsu hell no!
the world will vanish if that day comes.

I couldn't watch the whole thing because my head was starting to hurt, but really Tardy did not sound that bad to me, but mr. tae cannot sing and she's the main vocal? How sad. I still can't stand any of them though.
What's with the outfits, they look like waitresses at the International House of Pancakes. If we're lucky, maybe all 9 will go work there, I think that waitressing would be better than trying to sing (fail) or act (fail).

it's bad enough that i had to sit through her performance with Lee Juk. i don't know why people keep saying she's a great singer. her voice is so weak to be singing with all those artists. after listening to her singing with Lee Juk, i decided that this girl can't sing for shit. it's not an opinion, it's a fact, [like what QueenBee said] after listening her do that duet with Park Hyo Shin, it was proven that she can't sing! i seriously hope she'll stop singing, cause she doesn't deserve to be called a good singer or even have duets with anyone. her voice is as weak as her immune system. yeah, cause she's always "sick" as sones claims her to be or herself claims to be. i'm sorry, but if "being sick" is a reason for bad singing, then why does those judges from american idol say that it's just another excuse for bad singing? i don't know how she got to be the main vocalist in SNSD, but i sure feel sorry for Seohyun, cause i personally think she has the best voice out of all of them. Taeyeon, it's time for you get off stage. it's time for you to let real singers show you what a real singer should be. Taeyeon, GET OFF THE STAGE!!

When she sings with Park Hyo Shin, I was like "Stop it!!! My ears are hurting!!!" Sones said, "It's just because Park Hyo Shin has a great voice that is hard for Tae Yuck to harmonize with him..." If these delusionals said their leader Tae Yuck has a very nice voice, how come she cannot harmonize with him??? Yah...Yah...Go and have fun in your delusional world SONES!!!

i've always thought of mr tae as someone EXTREMELY OVERRATED, it's ridiculous how they praise her singing and vocal skills like crazy. for one, she is always off-key. two, her voice is the epitome of major blandness. like it's so boring and lack in emotions. three, whenever she performs a solo, all she does is stand and sing. like i said, she fails in pouring emotions.

LOL, well, its a proven FACT that this so called main vocal cant sing, and it is also a proven FACT that SONES are INSANE!
This girl will only drag Junsu down and make Junsu look bad! And I dont EVER want to see that happen. Su deserves to sing with some one who is also amazing, not some main vocal who cant sing to save her life.

Ouch. I actually had to stop listening. She was definitely off key.

Park Hyo Shin had a sore throat and couldn’t sing well. That’s what he said on his cyworld and he apologized for it, but even with a sore throat he out shined her
I never believed she could sing to begin with. she is only a “good” singer when she is around people that can’t sing at all.

I love PHS. It is extremely sad he was better then her and had a sore throat. All of those insanes need to shut up. She was just plain bad and nothing can change that.

awww at least give her some credit, you know how hard it is to ruin a song?? lol mr. She is highly unprofessional if she can't handle duets. It's an insult to pair her voice with those great names if she can't pull off a good performance.

Not only is she out of tune, but she's utterly EMOTIONLESS. I've always thought she was a trained robot.

It's so funny how I hear so many excuses going "That was bad, I admit, but she's young and has a lot of potential to learn"

Please. She has been singing with professional vocal training from coaches under SM for how many years? How many solos has she performed?

She's proven to me that she absolutely cannot be a singer. She needs to be in a large group with 8 other plastics to back her up and make her look special just because she's the only one out of them that can make an on-tune note sound good amongst them.
But she falls short with that, because it's all she's got. She fails to be memorable as a solo singer, which is why many of us have agreed that even if she were to go solo, she would only fall into obscurity because her performance presence is utterly lacking.

Coupled with the fact that she can't adjust herself to make her voice compliment anyone else's...
A duet is a joint effort. Unlike a solo where you are supposed to shine and stand out (which is why nobody's supposed to open their mouths when Taeyeon sings during her tiny solos in SNSD's songs).

She was not meant to sing WITH anyone.

Further more, one last thing;

I can't believe that Park Hyo Shin even had to write an excuse out for the quality of the performance. Insanes must have been REALLY pressuring him.
He had to cover up for her just because she couldn't handle it? What?

Park Hyo Shin, it's not your fault that Taeyeon couldn't deliver.

i was under the impression that Mika Nakashima sang it first though....
anyways, i like Nakashima's version ALOT better. taeyeon'svoice was too high and too....something...it just didn't feel right...


and in the first vid, i couldn't even hear her...both over the screams of ppl and over the background music track....the guy sounded much better, and was more audible. she should at least be louder than the background music.....
